BRAVE Combat Federation's Eldar Eldarov made history in April 2019, when he became the first mixed martial arts world champion in the Super Lightweight division, which is up to 165 pounds.
It was the realization of a dream for Eldarov, who started his career in wrestling and combat sambo, in Dagestan. Before transitioning full-time to MMA, Eldar earned a silver medal in the combat sambo world championship.
He is part of the first generation of athletes trained under Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, and has been credited with passing along the knowledge from his late master to his students.
Eldarov has since defended his Super Lightweight title, and is widely recognized as one of the organization’s top fighters regardless of weight-class. He has also been praised for his efforts behind the scenes as the head coach of KHK Team Bahrain, and the Bahrain National MMA amateur team. Under his tutelage, KHK Team Bahrain became one of the top teams in the world of MMA, and the Bahrain National Team has been ranked first under the IMMAF banner, as well as winning the inaugural MMA Super Cup in early 2022.
As an MMA fighter, he holds a professional record of 14 wins and only one defeat, inflicted by fellow legendary athlete Khabib Nurmagomedov. He has notable wins over Brian Hooi, Denis Maher, Mounir Lazzez, and Leonardo Mafra, and is undefeated under the BRAVE CF banner, with 6 wins in as many bouts.
