Zach Makovsky eyes Flyweight title after razor-thin win in BRAVE CF debut

American Zach Makovsky had an immense challenge in his BRAVE Combat Federation debut, as he took on Russian powerhouse Velimurad Alkhasov at BRAVE CF 34/WFC 24, which took place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, this past weekend. After three even rounds, Makovsky walked away with a split decision victory and has set his sights on a title shot.

Both men had their moments in the bout, with Alkhasov scoring early on through low kicks, while Zach showed very good movement and took Velimurad down at times.

While "Fun Size" realizes that the talent pool at Flyweight is deep at BRAVE CF, he hopes beating a previously undefeated title challenger can boost him up the ranks and towards a title shot.

"I saw that there was one judge that gave me a 30-27, but I don't agree with that. I think I won, but Velimurad definitely got me in the second round. Let's go back and see what's next, I know this division doesn't have a champion yet, so maybe I could fight Marcel Adur or the winner of any bouts he's in, and fight for the title. That's what I want to do", pondered Makovsky.

BRAVE CF 34/WFC 24 was the first-ever BRAVE Combat Federation event taking place in the Balkans and the first show of the partnership between the fastest-growing MMA organization in the world and the leading local promotion, with the purpose of empowering the sport in the region.
