BRAVE Combat Federation veteran Ylies Djiroun is set to make his return to the BRAVE CF cage on May 11 at BRAVE CF 82 facing off against promotional newcomer Ananias Mulumba from DR Congo.
This bout marks a significant shift for Djiroun, who usually competes in the Lightweight division but will now test his skills in the Featherweight division, signalling a fresh start and a chance for redemption.
Djiroun, who made his BRAVE CF debut back in 2021 at BRAVE CF 48, quickly established himself as the face of French MMA in the organization. The pivotal moment for Djiroun in the organization came when BRAVE CF debuted in France with BRAVE CF 74 at the H Arena in Nantes in 2023, where Djiroun headlined the event against Brazil's Lucas Martins.
Unfortunately, the hometown advantage did not work in Djiroun's favor as he suffered a first-round knockout loss to Martins, dealing a significant blow to his career.
Following this setback, Djiroun opted to return to the regional circuit, securing two consecutive victories. Now, with his sights set on rejoining the BRAVE CF ranks, Djiroun faces high stakes in his upcoming bout.
Later this year, BRAVE Combat Federation is slated to return to France as part of its 2024 European Tour. For Djiroun, who aims to erase the memory of his challenging performance at BRAVE CF 74, a strong showing in his upcoming fight is important to secure a spot on the card for the upcoming event in France and to redeem himself in front of his home crowd.
BRAVE CF 82 will mark the debut event in Mauritius and the fourth event in the African continent for the organization. It will also be the second event of the year for BRAVE CF which has announced eight more events in 2024 including the return to France in November.
