Brazilian superstar Luiz Cado claimed the Super Welterweight title at BRAVE Combat Federation during BRAVE CF 89 in Spain, defeating Kamal Magomedov and beyond Cado's personal triumph, his title win marks the start of a new wave of Brazilian MMA talent in BRAVE Combat Federation.
Ever since its inception eight years ago, BRAVE Combat Federation has maintained a strong connection with Brazil, featuring 99 fighters from the country, including Santiago Paiva, who debuted at BRAVE CF 89.
The organization's efforts to provide a global platform for Brazilian MMA fighters have been successful, with five Brazilian World Champions—Klidson de Abreu, Lucas Mineiro, Luan Santiago, Cleiton Silva, and Daniel Pereira—winning titles before Cado. His victory adds a sixth champion to this list, inspiring the next generation of Brazilian fighters.
Cado's title win in Spain highlights Brazil's dominance in BRAVE Combat Federation, where the country now boasts twice as many champions as the second most dominant country in BRAVE CF, Russia, which has three.
With his win, Cado remains undefeated in the organization, with four consecutive victories. At BRAVE CF 89, he also became the first fighter to defeat Kamal Magomedov, helping Brazil close the gap in head-to-head matches against Russia, now standing at 8 wins for Russia and 4 for Brazil.
Cado's success is likely to inspire the next wave of Brazilian MMA fighters to continue the country's strong presence in BRAVE Combat Federation while his victory also highlights the strong relationship between BRAVE CF and Brazil.
BRAVE CF 89 was the ninth event for the organization in 2024, concluding the "Around the World in 70 Days" tour, which included events in China, Pakistan, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Slovenia, and Spain.
