Team Bahrain leads Oceania MMA Open with three gold medals
Mixed martial arts' number one team in the world, Team Bahrain started 2020 exactly like it ended 2019: with several gold medals and its number-one rank intact. Competitors from the Kingdom travelled to Australia to take part in the IMMAF Oceania Open and left the country with seven medals and the top rank amongst males.
Out of seven medals, three of them were Gold (Mohammed Almemari, Ramazan Gitinov, and Murtaza Talha Ali), two Silvers (Abdullah Mubarak and Zubair Gazhiv), and two Bronzes (Abdullah AlYaqoob and Yousif Sayyar).
"This result shows that we are on the right path on the development of these athletes and their pride they show in representing the Kingdom of Bahrain at the highest level is something that we are very proud of. We are the number one team in the world and we've shown why in Australia", says Mohammed Qamber, president of the Bahrain MMA Federation.
BRAVE CF world champion at a professional level and one of the head coaches of the Bahrain National Team as well as KHK MMA, Eldar Eldarov was proud of the work done by his athletes.
"These results are the fruit of a lot of hard work. My athletes work harder than anyone else and I'm very happy to see their hard work translated into medals and their pride for Bahrain", said Eldarov.
CEO of KHK MMA and president of BRAVE CF, Mohammed Shahid explained the work done behind the scenes by KHK MMA and His Highness Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to put Bahrain in the highest of places on an international platform.
"We are very proud of the results shown by KHK MMA athletes. Aside from all the Bahraini fighters winning medals, we also had Muhammad Mokaev shining in his first senior tournament with a gold medal. This shows the vision and hard work of His Highness Shaikh Khaled in putting KHK MMA and the Kingdom of Bahrain at the top of the world in the fastest-growing sport on the planet, commented Shahid.
