REVEALED: Monika Kucinic won at BRAVE CF 88 despite suffering a broken jaw in the first round

Monika Kucinic has had a dream start to her BRAVE CF career, winning all of her bouts thus far with the organization and solidifying herself as one of the top female fighters in European MMA. However, her road under the banner of the most global organization in the world has been far from smooth.
With each passing challenger, Monika has been required to dig deeper and deeper to showcase her true warrior spirit, always coming back from great danger to win her fights. It was that spirit that made her stay on the fight earlier this year against Sofia Bagishivili to eventually earn a huge submission victory against a noted grappler in a great feather to her cap.
But last Saturday, at BRAVE CF 88, she showcased how far she’s willing to go to win, as Monika continues to wow her fanbase with her sheer toughness. After cruising for most of the first round against Fabiola Pidroni, Kucinic was nearly knocked out in the dying seconds of Round 1 after her Italian counterpart connected beautifully with a head kick that landed square on her jaw.
Still wobbly but far from defeated, Monika was possibly saved by the bell and took the rest period to recompose herself and, even though she noticed something was wrong, she did not care. In front of her friends, family, and fans, she would only leave that cage a winner.

And that’s what she did, showcasing an unbelievable level of awareness and toughness, not only she survived, but thrived, eventually winning the fight via split decision.
After the fight, an X-Ray confirmed what she already knew: Monika had fought for 10 minutes or two rounds with a broken jaw, winning the fight, even though at any moment she could have been finished. The bout between Kucinic and Pidroni was so good that it won a bonus mid-event, when usually the bonuses are given post-fight.
For her part, Monika was admitted to a local Hospital, where she underwent surgery, receiving two metal plates, and was given an all-clear to return home last Wednesday.
