Tbilisi is primed for a historic night of mixed martial arts as BRAVE Combat Federation confirmed that all bouts scheduled for BRAVE CF: GEORGIA VS. THE WORLD have been cleared to take place this Friday, October 3, at the Tbilisi New Sports Palace.
In partnership with Georgian Fighting Championship (GFC), the centerpiece of the fifth edition of BRAVE International Combat Week promises nine thrilling clashes between Georgia’s finest and elite international athletes
At the heart of the card lies a showdown that has captured the imagination of fans across the region. No. 1-ranked lightweight Rauli Tutarauli will shoulder the weight of Georgian pride as he battles seasoned Dutch veteran Pieter “The Archangel” Buist for the BRAVE CF Interim Lightweight World Championship.
Both men hit their marks on the scales, officially locking in a five-round duel that could etch Tutarauli’s name in the annals of his nation’s sporting history.
The co-main event keeps the stakes high, as undefeated Georgian bantamweight Lasha Abramishvili collides with Tajik dynamo Khurshed “Good Boy” Nazarov, the division’s No. 3-ranked contender.
A victory on Friday night could propel either man into world title contention against reigning divisional king Borislav Nikolic.
Elsewhere on the card, Pakistan’s Ismail “The Volcano” Khan, the country’s first IMMAF World Medalist, meets Azerbaijan’s Elmir Jafarov in a pivotal bout symbolizing the journey from the amateur stage to BRAVE CF’s global platform.
While weigh-ins were largely smooth, a few athletes stumbled on the scale.
Gheorghe Gritko came in heavy for his middleweight bout against Mukhrani Narsavidze, which will now be contested at a catchweight of 85.1 kilograms, with the Moldovan penalized 20% of his purse.
Reymond Jowett missed the featherweight limit ahead of his clash with Luka Giorgadze, forcing the contest to proceed at 66.8 kilograms with the same financial penalty.
Meanwhile, Nikolay Atanasov was unable to hit the flyweight threshold, and his matchup with Adigozel Guliyev moves forward at a catchweight of 57.5 kilograms, with the Georgian forfeiting 30% of his purse.
With weigh-in drama behind them, the stage is set for a spectacular evening of international competition, capped by Tutarauli’s chance to bring championship gold home in front of a roaring Georgian crowd.
