Not your typical Dutch fighter: Judo specialist Daan Duijs out to dominate at BRAVE CF 89

The Netherlands is a country known for its kickboxing roots with most of the MMA fighters from the country leading with a kickboxing background; Daan Duijs, however, is an exception.
Instead of following the common path, Daan began his martial arts journey with Judo at the age of 6. Ten years later, he transitioned to MMA and achieved early success, going undefeated in his first six professional fights.
Daan continued his success with four more wins in his next six bouts, earning his place in BRAVE Combat Federation. Now, at BRAVE CF 89, Daan aims to make a statement with a strong performance.
Daan enters the fight on a two-fight winning streak and hopes to extend it. Beyond that, a victory could change his life, as Daan has been balancing his MMA career with part-time work to support his family. A win could place him among the top names in the BRAVE CF Bantamweight division, currently ruled by Nkosi Ndebele.
As a black belt in Judo, Daan has secured six of his ten career victories via submission. He also possesses solid striking skills, thanks to training with top athletes like former MMA World Champion Germaine De Randamie and kickboxing champion Ilias Bulaid.
With BRAVE CF making waves in the Netherlands, especially after BRAVE CF 83 and BRAVE CF 87, this is the perfect moment for Daan to shine in the global MMA scene. However, he faces a tough challenge in Abdelmoumen Mssaate, who has already competed against BRAVE CF Bantamweight champion Nkosi Ndebele. If Daan outperforms Ndebele’s showing against Mssaate, he could make a huge impact in the division.
BRAVE CF 89 will take place on October 19 at Pabellón Santiago Martín in Tenerife, Spain, in partnership with Fight2One, and will be headlined by a Super Welterweight title fight between champion Kamal Magomedov and Brazilian contender Luiz Cado.
