Nkosi Ndebele list of supporters got an illustrious addition this Wednesday (19). While preparing for the main event of BRAVE CF 73, the Bantamweight world title fight against Jose “Shorty” Torres, Ndebele was welcomed by the Minister of Sports, Arts & Culture of South Africa, the Honorable Mr. Zizi Kodwa.
Mr. Kodwa shared a picture with Ndebele on his social media profiles and left a message to the BRAVE CF athlete. “This morning at the gym, I met MMA champ Nkosi Ndebele. I wish him all the best as he attempts to become the first African champion in BRAVE CF in Bogota, Colombia. All the best, champ!”, he wrote.
Nkosi’s title shot actually marks the second attempt of South Africa to make its first BRAVE CF world champion. Back in 2019, Chad Hanekom fought Daniel Pereira at home, in Durban, but the belt ended up with the Brazilian.
Ndebele’s rise to stardom is also the first time ever that a fighter who started his career with BRAVE Combat Federation makes his way to a title fight. “The Future” made his professional debut at BRAVE CF 19 in 2018 and, since then, had six other bouts under the most global MMA promotion’s banner.
Nkosi Ndebele vs Jose Torres for the Bantamweight world title will serve as the main event for BRAVE CF 73, on August 12, in Bogota, Colombia. The event will headline the first ever BRAVE Pan American Combat Week, the biggest combat sports festival in the region.
