BRAVE CF Bantamweight champion Nicholas Hwende has some big plans lined up for the New Year
Newly crowned BRAVE Combat Federation Bantamweight Champion Nicholas Hwende is enjoying his moment in the spotlight. Hwende, who hails from Zimbabwe, became the new Bantamweight Champion in the main event of BRAVE CF 91, where he outclassed former champion Nkosi Ndebele over five rounds to secure a decision victory and claim the title belt.
The win marked Hwende’s third consecutive victory in BRAVE Combat Federation and, at the same time, etched his name into the history books of the most global MMA organization in the world. Following his historic title win in Bahrain, Hwende celebrated his first Christmas as World Champion and is now planning to make his mark in 2025.
“The African takeover. I want to thank all the folks who supported me on this journey to making history. 2025 is my year,” Hwende noted after his title win.
The victory over Ndebele not only started Hwende’s title reign but also established him as the biggest MMA name from Africa.
Having started his professional MMA career in 2021, Hwende became a regional champion and made his BRAVE CF debut at BRAVE CF 71, at which point he was undefeated. Although his debut in BRAVE CF did not go as planned, as Combat Sambo World Champion Velimurad Alkhasov handed him his first career loss, Hwende bounced back strongly, winning his next three fights in the organization to capture the World Title.
Now, having showcased his talent to MMA fans worldwide, Hwende is eager to solidify his position at the top of the BRAVE CF Bantamweight division with a strong 2025.
