The celebration of Nemat Abdrashitov’s Featherweight world title accomplishment continued this week when the Kyrgyzstan athlete was honored by dignitaries in his homeland.
Abdrashitov shocked the world at BRAVE CF 72 after claiming a unanimous decision victory over former BRAVE CF Featherweight champion and Russia’s Roman Bogatov in Riffa, Bahrain, during this year’s Kombat Kingdom series.
Abdrashitov is now the second Kyrgyz to secure BRAVE CF gold, and the significance of such an achievement is celebrated in the Central Asian nation.
Like BRAVE CF Lightweight champion Abdisalam Kubanychbek, Abdrashitov was warmly received by his countryman upon his return to the nation’s capital, Bishkek, as fans and family flocked to the airport to welcome their latest champion home.
Just yesterday, Abdrashitov was further praised in his native city of Kyzyl-Kiya when Mayor Matkalykov Asilbek Zhorobaevich, Vice Mayor Aitmatov Mirlan Musaevich and Councilor of the City of Duma, Alimbekova Tahmina Zhusupovna celebrated the new champion for his incredible feat in the most global MMA promotion.
The recognition of Abdrashitov bodes well for the sport of MMA in Kyrgyzstan and could soon see BRAVE CF return to the nation again after becoming the first international brand to host an event there when BRAVE CF 32 took place in association with WEF in 2019.
Abdrashitov is set to make his first title defense when he meets Ukraine’s Omar Solomanov, later this year.
BRAVE CF will next travel to Bogota, Colombia, to host BRAVE CF 73, which will see USA’s Jose Torres face South Africa’s Nkosi Ndebele for the vacant Bantamweight belt on August 12.
