Muhammad Mokaev Determined To Claim Flyweight Gold In ‘Second Home’

Muhammad “The Punisher” Mokaev has long been hailed as one of the finest flyweights in the world.

On Friday, November 7, at Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town, Bahrain, he finally has the chance to cement that reputation as he battles Gerard “The Animal” Burns for the inaugural BRAVE CF Flyweight World Championship in the co-main event of BRAVE 100.

For Mokaev, this isn’t just another fight — it’s a return to where it all began.

The undefeated phenom is determined to capture his first-ever World Title in a place he proudly calls his “second home.”

“Bahrain will always have a special place in my heart. It’s where I achieved some of the biggest moments of my career, both as an amateur and as a professional. This country feels like my second home,” Mokaev said.

Indeed, Bahrain has been the backdrop for many of Mokaev’s career milestones.

During his decorated amateur run, his greatest triumphs came under the bright lights of the island kingdom.

When he turned professional in 2020, BRAVE Combat Federation — founded and based in Bahrain — became his launching pad into global stardom.

Carrying immense expectations, the young prospect thrived under the BRAVE CF banner.

Over five bouts, he won four, including two by submission, and proved himself as the future face of the organization’s 125-pound division.

His performances inside the BRAVE CF cage captured international attention, paving the way for a stint abroad.

When that chapter in North America came to a sudden close, the doors of BRAVE CF once again opened for Mokaev — and so did Bahrain’s embrace.

“Bahrain became even more meaningful to me because of BRAVE CF. This promotion believed in me from the beginning and gave me the platform to show who I truly am as a fighter,” he shared.

His homecoming at BRAVE CF 91 in December 2024 was nothing short of triumphant.

Facing Filipino opponent Joevincent So, Mokaev reminded the world of his brilliance, scoring a first-round submission to the delight of fans who have followed his journey since day one.

Now, at BRAVE 100, “The Punisher” stands at the cusp of the most important fight of his career — a chance to make history by becoming the first-ever BRAVE CF Flyweight World Champion.

For the 25-year-old rising star, there’s no better stage for this crowning moment than Bahrain, where his story of perseverance, loyalty, and destiny continues to unfold.

“To win my first World Title here, in Bahrain, would mean everything to me,” Mokaev said with conviction. “It’s where my dreams took shape, where I’ve grown as a fighter and as a man. Becoming a World Champion in this place — my second home — would make it all come full circle.”
