BRAVE Combat Federation has made a rapid rise through the MMA world, achieving a historic landmark of 30 countries hosted in only seven years’ time. That push for the globalization of mixed martial arts is a big part of BRAVE CF’s ethos. And one of the main executives behind that drive is Chief Operating Officer Valeria Lang.
The highest-ranked woman in any global organization for mixed martial arts, Ms. Lang is the de facto number two of BRAVE Combat Federation, reporting directly to President Mohammed Shahid. On a day-to-day basis, she is responsible for organizing the company on various levels, as well as leading a team of workers responsible for putting together shows in all corners of the world.
For those that have been to a BRAVE Combat Federation event, or worked in one in any capacity, her presence is undeniable. She often lies on the sidelines, as a silent observer and enforcer, a leader that has full faith in her team to execute the vision of His Highness Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa. It is undeniable that she has earned the respect of her peers and the admiration of fighters and those involved in mixed martial arts across the world.
As is the case with most inspired leaders, she has a loyal team behind her, and one that has made history over the last seven-and-a-half years. No other promotion has been to as many countries as BRAVE Combat Federation, and it is her tireless love for the sport and for BRAVE CF that has helped drive that push towards global domination.
Through her work with KHK Sports, Ms. Lang has helped foster a new era for sports in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Middle East, with KHK Sports now widely recognized as the number one sports media property in the region. Since the birth of KHK Sports, a variety of sports have enjoyed significant growth in the lives of the new generation of young Bahrainis, who are inspired by the BRAVE CF fighters and the KHK athletes and have seen that athletics are a viable road to a successful future/career.
That shift in the paradigm of Bahrainis’ relationship with sports remains one of KHK Sports’ proudest achievements, and one that Ms. Lang can also be particularly proud of, since she’s a lifelong practitioner of martial arts and a fierce advocate of the transformative power that sports can play in people’s lives.
Another achievement in Ms. Lang’s resume when it comes to her involvement with KHK and BRAVE CF is that she has become a pioneer of Women’s participation in positions of power, especially when it comes to combat sports.
On International Women’s Day, the impact of Ms. Lang’s work will not go unnoticed as she continues to push for more and more recognition of women’s rights across the board in combat sports.
