BRAVE Combat Federation stars Joilton Lutterbach and Mihail Cotruta are set to light up Germany with a banger Super Lightweight fight at BRAVE CF 68 next month. And their co-main event bout has gold on the line.
Lutterbach and Cotruta will face off for the interim BRAVE CF 165-pound world title as both men look to earn a chance to unify the belt against the best Super Lightweight in mixed martial arts, lineal champion Eldar Eldarov.
Moldova’s Cotruta secured his place as the number-two ranked 165-pound athlete with a dominant first-round finish over Brazil’s Luan Santiago at BRAVE CF 60. Following that event, Brazil’s Lutterbach then shook up the Super Lightweight division when he knocked out former number-one ranked athlete, Germany’s Marcel Grabinski at BRAVE CF 61.
The BRAVE CF debutant - who stepped in as a late replacement - was so impressive that his win catapulted him to the number-one contender spot. Lutterbach is a veteran of combat sports with an incredible mixed martial arts record of 36-10-0, 1 NC. He is a six-promotion multi-division MMA champion as well as a two-promotion K-1 champion with an impeccable grappling pedigree to boot, earning black belts in Judo, Luta Livre and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
The 32-year-old Cotruta was unstoppable before joining BRAVE CF, racking up seven straight wins across two different organizations, which earned him a chance to fight in the global scene. After a disappointing debut, he has bounced back tremendously, with a lightning submission victory of former world champion Santiago.
The Master of Sports in Combat Sambo showcased all of his weapons in that victory, badly hurting Luan with his striking before wrapping things up with a submission, in a win that added to his 78% finish ratio.
Both athletes have been vocal about fighting Eldar Eldarov. Now they will have a chance to earn interim gold and be undeniable in their pursuit of the current lineal champ.
The second-ever Germany show, which takes place in Dusseldorf on December 17th, follows the tremendous success achieved by the partnership between BRAVE CF, NFC, and fighting.de with BRAVE CF 61 / NFC 10, which took place in Bonn this past August.
Germany also holds a special place in BRAVE Nation hearts as the first event there officially put BRAVE Combat Federation on top of the list of most-traveled organizations in the sport when the country became the 28th nation to host a BRAVE CF show.
