Luiz Cado has proved to BRAVE NATION that he is the baddest Brazilian Super Welterweight when he beat his fellow countryman, Luis Felipe Dias via technical knockout (due to strikes) in the third round of their BRAVE CF 60 feature bout. And he has promised BRAVE CF president Mohammed Shahid he will rule the 175-pound division.
In the lead-up to the fight, much was made of the match-up between two of Brazil’s finest Super Welterweights as both of them have distinguished reputations. In the one corner stood Dias (now 14-5), a highly-respected athlete who was once ranked the Number One Welterweight in Brazil when he earned two championship belts in Brazilian-based promotions. Standing across from Dias was Cado (now 15-7-1) - also known as Golden Boy - who has two championship wins in his career so far, later earning a prestigious ranking within Brazil during this time.
Heading into BRAVE CF 60, all these Championship facts were sweetly wrapped up into a goodie bag setting the tone for “The battle of Brazil’s Baddest Super Welterweight”. In his BRAVE CF 60 pre-fight interview, Dias used the primary numbers analogy to explain what lies ahead: “(Cado) is very tough, but this is not about his trajectory, it is about mine, my win, and I'll prove that I'm the best. They say 1+1 = 2, but 1+1 will be the number one, and that is me'', said Dias, confident that he would be able to take down his opponent.
Fast-forward to post-BRAVE CF 60, Cado proved otherwise, and what better way to cement his status as Brazil’s unofficial Number One 175-pound king than with the first BRAVE CF 60 finish of the night
‘’I respect him (Dias) a lot. I knew I was “Brazil’s Number One”, but I had to prove it,” said Cado. “I came prepared for war, I stuck around and did the job my corner told and entrusted me with. I did everything they told me to do. When we connected, we knew he would fall down. “I am the real bullet train,” said Cado after that explosive finish, also promising to rule the Super Welterweights in a private chat with BRAVE CF president Mohammed Shahid.
