In the super welterweight division, Luiz Cado will go head to head with Willker Lemos in what has the potential to be the Fight of the Night. The Brazilian sensation Cado is coming off the back of an electric KO win over Luis Felipe Dias last summer, with his hope being that another emphatic performance here will really put him on the map.
Across his MMA journey, though, it hasn’t exactly been easy. Luiz has had his fair share of struggles over the years with drugs and alcohol, to the point where he would even get intoxicated during fight week.
Under the guidance of Evolucao Thai, however, he’s cleaned up his act, and he credits a lot of that to Andre Dida. His coach and his teammates helped him to turn things around, and at this stage, it wouldn’t be at all surprising to see him earn a title shot if he goes in there and does some damage against Lemos.
Even outside of the cage, he’s setting things up for the future. He decided to invest in himself not so long ago by joining law school, becoming a big advocate for various social and political causes. His left-leaning status isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but this is a man who knows his morals and sticks to them - what more could you want?
Don’t blink, because “Golden Boy” is ready to do something special.
BRAVE CF 73 takes place on August 12, at the Coliseo El Salitre, in Bogota, Colombia. The main event of the evening will see the vacant Bantamweight World Title on the line as Jose “Shorty” Torres takes on Nkosi “The Future” Ndebele.
