Lucas Martins has seen it all in MMA, but wants to taste glory once again in BRAVE CF
Every time Lucas “Mineiro” Martins steps into the BRAVE CF Arena, he is introduced as one of the most accomplished Brazilian Mixed Martial Artists and that is, by no means, an overstatement.
Mineiro started his career in striking, competing in Muay Thai and kickboxing competitions after leaving behind a career as a waiter. Living in São Paulo, Brazil’s largest city, he was quickly introduced to the world of Mixed Martial Arts.
Training at the local branch of the world-famous Chute Boxe, Mineiro started to compete in the local São Paulo scene and in less than two years he built a perfect record of 12 wins and no losses, completely dominating the competition and earning highlight knockouts in the process.
The word was out in the town, there was a new phenomenon taking over São Paulo and he has justified that hype throughout his career, consistently delivering exciting fights and beating big names in mixed martial arts.
At the height of his career, he signed with BRAVE Combat Federation and headlined the organization’s first international show, back in March of 2017, earning a victory over Fabian Galvan.
His next bout would become the highlight of his career so far, as he battled fellow Brazilian Luan ‘’Miau’’ Santiago in what is now known as one of the best fights in promotional history.
After going behind in the scorecards, Lucas earned a TKO victory with seconds to go on the fifth round, becoming the interim Lightweight champion of the world, a title that would become undisputed a few months later.
Holding a professional record of 20 wins and only 5 losses, Mineiro is coming off two consecutive losses, one via injury in the very first round and the second one when he tried to move back to Featherweight and challenge for the world title.
Against Marcel Grabinski at BRAVE CF 51, the Brazilian star wants to put an end to the slump and make a big statement, in order to see himself once again on the road to the world title.
“I’ve seen it all, I’ve done it all, but I still want to taste it again. When Grabinski sees me inside the cage, he will know who I am”, he said.
Mineiro will face Grabinski in the main event of BRAVE CF 51: The Future Is Here on June 4th at the Falcon Club in Minsk, Belarus, in association with Rukh Sport Management.
