BRAVE CF 71 and 72 saw the unveiling of new superstars, new challengers, and a brand new champion. Kombat Kingdom was a raging success as international athletes traveled to Riffa, Bahrain, to compete on the most-global MMA platform and embark on a journey to greatness with the most global MMA organization, BRAVE Combat Federation. Chief among them was the arrival of Khamzat Maaev to the big scene, as the Chechen-born Turkish fighter proved the comparisons with his almost-namesake Khamzat Chimaev were not wide of the mark.

Maaev needed only 41 seconds to brutally knock Elias Farah out, and instantly went viral, increasing expectations for his next few fights - especially after claiming he wanted to be ''even better'' than his idol Chimaev.

The stand-out point of this epic fight week was the crowning of a new BRAVE CF Featherweight champion after Kyrgyzstan’s Nemat Abdrashitov produced a dogged performance to outlast the former champion and Russia’s Roman Bogatov via a dominant unanimous decision win (50-45, 49-46, 48-47) to become the fourth 145-pound champion in BRAVE CF history. Abdrashitov will now defend his belt against Ukraine’s Omar Solomanov, who overcame Kazakhstan’s Ilyar Askhanov at BRAVE CF 71 to book his slot as the number-one contender in the division.

Solomanov stepped up to the plate and confirmed his threat in the Featherweight division after pushing the pace for the entire three-round battle with Askhanov, owning the cage with his pressure wrestling and riding techniques before securing a unanimous decision win in the BRAVE CF 71 main event.

Current Flyweight tournament contender and Russia’s Velimurad Alkhasov moved up a division and has rocked the 135-pound landscape with a hard-fought unanimous decision win over African Bantamweight champion Nicholas Hwende. Alkhasov’s victory takes him one step closer to the Bantamweight throne, and he could potentially compete for a shot against either Jose Torres or Nkosi Ndebele, who will fight for the vacant Bantamweight title on August 12, at BRAVE CF 73.

Super Lightweight and former Olympian Mahmoud Sebie continued his unbeaten run in BRAVE CF with his third first-round stoppage win over Tunisia’s Ouessama Zeidi. Following his victory, the Egyptian called out his friend and fellow Super Lightweight Joilton Lutterbach to step up for an interim Super Lightweight title fight as incumbent champion Eldar Eldarov recovers from an injury.

In the Flyweight division, Egypt’s Maysara Mohamed was in a class of his own when he dismantled the Philippines' Ruel Panales via knockout in the first round. The Egyptian’s speed was just too much for the Filipino, who had no answer for the explosive striking of his opponent. Mohamed is now unbeaten in eight fights and has thrown his name into the cap as a contender for the 125-pound title.

The first installment of Kombat Kingdom series also gave the promotion the opportunity to welcome its newest stars to the BRAVE CF cage. In the Lightweight division, the greatest amateur athlete yet Ramazan Gitinov made his BRAVE CF debut and did so in lightning-quick time when he submitted Morocco’s Abderrahman Errachidy via D’Arce choke in the first round, taking his win streak (amateur and pro) to 32 wins.

At BRAVE CF 72, Abdrashitov received the perfect build-up to his title win as his fellow contestants on the card shone in their own regard. In the BRAVE CF 72 co-main event, the pace of debutant and Georgia’s Bidzina Gavashelishvili’s takedowns and his wrestling were just too much for Bahrain’s Magomed Idrisov, and with that, the latter introduced himself as the new dog who could be a big problem for the rest of the BRAVE CF Flyweights down the line.

With BRAVE CF set to land in Nantes, France, for the first time in September, Yanis Ghemmouri did all he can to ensure that he booked his spot on that card with a blistering TKO (knee) over Pakistan’s Mehmosh Raza within the first minute of the second round. Ghemmouri shifted from Bantam to Featherweight, and his win at BRAVE CF 72 is his ninth in a row, which will stand him in good stead as a contender in the division moving forward.

The Light Heavyweight division also has a new star quickly coming up after former IMMAF Heavyweight king and BRAVE CF debutant Rasul Magomedov made light work of his Egyptian opponent Mohamed Hisham Baraka with a TKO (punches) in the first round to introduce himself as the next big thing of BRAVE Combat Federation.

BRAVE CF returns on August 12 for BRAVE CF 73, which goes down in Bogota, Colombia, as part of the BRAVE Pan-American Combat Week. The main event sees American IMMAF legend Jose Torres take on South Africa’s Nkosi Ndebele for the vacant Bantamweight world title.
