Jose Shorty Torres Looking To Re-Create Midas Touch In BRAVE CF
When Jose “Shorty” Torres joined BRAVE Combat Federation in 2019, he made it clear that he wanted to become the promotion’s first-ever Flyweight World Champion. To earn that opportunity, the American standout has to win the BRAVE CF Flyweight World Title Tournament, and his journey to the gold continues on November 6th.
He is scheduled to face Ali “The King Puncher” Bagautinov in a semi-final bout at BRAVE CF 55, which emanates from Rostov-on-Don, Russia.
The 29-year-old native of Chicago, Illinois previously held the flyweight and bantamweight belts in a North American mixed martial arts outfit. He was also a champion in the amateur ranks, winning the 135-pound category at the IMMAF World Championships two years in a row.
Replicating the same success on the global stage is the next target of Torres. Now, he is focused on finding a way to defeat Bagautinov at BRAVE CF 55. If he succeeds, “Shorty” will earn a seat in the tourney finals and square off with the highly-touted Velimurad Alkhasov.
Torres vs Bagautinov will be the main event of BRAVE CF 55, which takes place in association with PRO FC, and will have a who’s who of Russian MMA taking on top fighters from around the globe.
