Indian MMA star Mohammed Farhad seeks redemption at BRAVE CF 66

BRAVE CF 66 will be a make-or-break moment for Mohammad “Sher-e-Hind” Farhad. The Indian star will be fighting for redemption when he faces Filipino star Ruel Panales in Bali, Indonesia on November 26th.

Since signing with the most global MMA promotion in the world, Farhad has never been able to string together a three-fight winning streak. Having been with BRAVE CF since the first event, the Indian superstar has built himself as a memorable name within his home country through his career with the organization. However, he now needs the win over Panales to remain relevant in the ever-growing Bantamweight division at BRAVE Combat Federation.

In 2016 at BRAVE CF 1, debutant Farhad beat Morocco’s Badr-Eddine Ahlzine before securing another win over compatriot Irfan Khan at BRAVE CF 5. It was a great start for Farhad, who began to make waves internationally and also in India with his exciting fighting style and huge wins.

Just as he started building momentum, he suffered a setback when he was on the wrong side of a unanimous decision against Bahrain’s Hamza Kooheji at BRAVE CF 9. Farhad then did well to build up his BRAVE CF stock once again with back-to-back stoppage wins over countryman Kushal Vyas and Pakistan’s Uloomi Karim, at BRAVE CF 30 and 47, respectively.

That last victory was extra special for Farhad, as the KO over Karim made headlines in India, turning him into a star and arguably the biggest name in the MMA scene for his country. It was also a special moment for Mohammed, since the KO went viral around the world and was nominated for KO of The Year in 2021.

Sadly, another loss was on the cards when he got knocked out by Egypt’s Maysara Mohamed at BRAVE CF 57 this year. It was a tough pill to swallow for Farhad. Not only did his title run take another knock, but he also suffered his first KO in eight years.

Now, he will have to make every fight count if he is to take the next step in his career and eventually fight for the elusive BRAVE CF Bantamweight strap. This will be no easy feat as he comes up against an exciting young Filipino star who makes his debut in Bali.

Panales - who is mentored by former BRAVE CF veteran, Rolando Dy - makes his BRAVE CF debut and will aim to become the new face of Filipino MMA with an emphatic win over his dangerous Indian opponent. Much is being made about Panales as he comes into BRAVE CF unbeaten with a five-fight win streak. With Dy being his mentor/coach, it only adds to the allure of Panales and Farhad will be keen on stopping the hype train of his opponent and reset his title run.

BRAVE CF 66 takes place on November 26th as the world’s fastest-growing MMA organization returns to Indonesia after a four-year hiatus.
