The Middleweight division for BRAVE Combat Federation has yet to crown a champion, but there's already a challenger in the wait. United States' Phil Hawes has impressed in his debut for the promotion, as he quickly submitted Dominik Schober at BRAVE CF 30, in India, last week, and is now positioning himself for a title shot.
The Middleweight world title will be up for grabs when Chad Hanekom takes on Daniel Gaucho in the main event of BRAVE CF 31, which takes place on December 7th, in Durban, South Africa. The winner of the bout might already have its first challenger, as Hawes has made it clear he signed for BRAVE CF to take over, not take part.
"I mean, I said it before the win. Sign me up for a title bout, I'm not here to play games, I'm here to win the belt. That's why I signed for BRAVE CF. I want whoever wins in South Africa for my next bout", says "Zilla".
Hawes' win in the co-main event came in the first round, as he used his wrestling to stifle Schober's striking, and wore him down with ground and pound, before transitioning to the Austrian's back and sink in a rear-naked choke for the win.
BRAVE CF 30 was headlined by a Bantamweight title fight between reigning champion Stephen Loman and top contender Louie Sanoudakis. With yet another dominant performance "The Sniper" beat "Leonidas" via unanimous decision, to maintain his undefeated record for BRAVE CF and score his fourth straight title defense.
