Hamza Kooheji is the Muhammad Ali of Bahrain says BRAVE CF President Mohammed Shahid
BRAVE Combat Federation, the fastest-growing MMA organization in the world, is returning to its home in the Kingdom of Bahrain, on March 11th, with a historic fight card. The show will be headlined by Hamza ‘’The Pride of Bahrain’’ Kooheji, as the superstar looks to become the first Bahrain-born world champion in combat sports.
This Saturday, during a press meet held at Juffair Square to promote the fight, Hamza Kooheji spoke about his upbringing in martial arts, his goals for the next generation of Bahraini sportspeople, and the fight against Brad Katona, from Canada, but training at Conor McGregor’s gym in Ireland.
"I’ve always wanted to be an athlete, and was told I couldn’t do it. My legacy will be to help people who want to be athletes to realize their dreams. I think Bahraini people will benefit from having more sports in their day-to-day lives and I want to be a part of that change."
"My opponent is a very tough athlete and he’s very skilled. But I feel as if I’m preparing for a fighter who’s very much better than him, so I feel prepared."
"I want to thank the Bahraini people for their support and invite all to come on March 11th to the Khalifa Sports City Arena, for what is a very important moment for Bahrain sports."
Aside from answering questions from journalists and the general public, Hamza also posed and spoke to fans as the anticipation for BRAVE CF 57 continues to build.
He was also showered with praise by BRAVE Combat Federation President Mohammed Shahid, who summarized Kooheji’s impact in Bahraini sports with a simple, but powerful sentence.
"Philippines has Manny Pacquiado, USA has Muhammad Ali, Ireland has Conor McGregor and Bahrain has Hamza Kooheji."
