Gabriel Fly returns to face Colombian bad boy Jhon Zarate at BRAVE CF 26

Aug 12, 2019

Featherweight contender Gabriel "Fly" Miranda will look to go back to the win column in his next bout. And he has a date and opponent set, as he will take on Jhon Zarate in the co-main event of BRAVE 26, on September 7th. The event will mark the first time the fastest-growing MMA organization in the world will host a show in Bogota, Colombia.

Gabriel has two bouts for BRAVE CF to date, with a win against Fernando Noriega at BRAVE 15, and a loss to Akhmed Magomedov, back in December of last year, at BRAVE 21, in Saudi Arabia. "Fly" is a submission specialist, and the jiu-jitsu black belt has finished all of his 13 professional victories, submitting his opponents in 12 of those 13 wins.

Aside from a surging professional career, family man Gabriel is also a jiu-jitsu teacher and one of the main sparring partners for BRAVE Lightweight world champion Luan "Miau" Santiago at the world-famous CM System gym, in Curitiba, Brazil.

He will look to bounce back from his loss to Magomedov against the self-proclaimed most hated fighter in Colombia. The subject of a Fightland VICE documentary, Jhon "The Problem" Zarate is known for his no-nonsense style and willingness to go toe-to-toe with his opponents. Zarate was born in Medellin, but spent most of his formative years in Brooklyn, New York, and represents Bareknuckle gym.

BRAVE 26 will be headlined by a Lightweight bout of epic proportions as veteran Felipe Silva makes his much-anticipated promotional debut against top prospect Guram Kutateladze. The entire fight card for BRAVE's debut in Bogota will be announced in the coming days.
