The tone was set for another groundbreaking BRAVE CF event as 20 athletes successfully weighed-in ahead of the first-ever German BRAVE CF event. BRAVE Combat Federation will host its 61st event in Bonn, Germany tomorrow and the excitement was palpable as emotions ran high during some of the face-offs.
On the prelim card, Axel Sola and Wladimir Holodenko cut respectful, yet intense figures ahead of their 77-kilogram Catchweight bout. The 89-kilogram Catchweight bout face-off between Chad Hanekom and Mateusz Janur spoke volumes of Hanekom’s intention for the final prelim card fight. The South African refused to take his eyes off Janur as he beared down on him with his glare even when they were asked to face forward. Hanekom had no interest in anything other than his opponent but quickly put the intensity on pause until tomorrow as he then respectfully shook his opponent’s hand.
The main card weigh-ins continued growing in intensity as the ceremonial event drew closer to the final face-off of the night. The late change in opponent for Husein Kadimagomaev must have sparked something for both him and his opponent, Jose Marcos Santiago Lima Jr. ahead of their 73-kilogram Catchweight bout. Both athletes brought loud energy and refused to back-up as the tension resonated with both athletes leaving it up to BRAVE CF President and officials to separate the two.
The following bout built on that heated exchange when Welterweights Islam Dulatov and Kleverson Cruz brought the thunder and lightning on stage making their voices heard as they failed to contain their excitement with the officials once again having to step in and work overtime during their face-off.
Just when BRAVE NATION thought that all the heated exchanges would eventually build-up to an eruption in the main face-off of the night, the cool and crisp Jolton Lutterbach stepped out dousing the flames with his swagger, dripping in style and glamor with his suit and shades. As his opponent, a bare-chested Marcel Grabinski approached the center - backed by the loud cheers of the crowd - Lutterbach met him halfway and greeted him with a warm gesture, placing his shades on Grabinski’s face to which Grabinski obliged in the spirit of show-business.
When they eventually met in the middle for their Super Lightweight bout face-off, Grabinski took off his opponent’s shades and looked him in the eye before putting his arm around Lutterbach and capping off the BRAVE CF 61 weigh-ins in warm spirit, celebrating the true essence of sportsmanship, humanity and mixed martial arts.
BRAVE CF 61 will take place tomorrow, Saturday, August 6th, in Bonn, Germany, and will be held in association with leading local promotion National Fighting Championship (NFC). Germany will become the 28th nation to host a BRAVE CF show, and the 11th European nation to welcome the fastest-growing MMA organization in the world. For more information visit www.bravecf.com.
