BRAVE Combat Federation president Mohammed Shahid recently announced that the upcoming main event clash between Erko Jun and Mohammed Said Maalem at BRAVE CF 81 will determine the next challenger for the vacant Light Heavyweight title.
For both men, the announcement from the BRAVE CF President serves as added motivation to bring out their best in Slovenia on April 20. However, the road to this pivotal moment has been anything but easy for both fighters.
Erko and Said have gone through many sacrifices for the fight camp and were training through the month of Ramadan in preparation for the fight.
Their dedication and hard work have now been rewarded with the announcement of the title shot opportunity.
Erko Jun, who made his debut in the organization at BRAVE CF 70 with a first-round victory, has been vocal about his desire to become a champion in BRAVE Combat Federation
At BRAVE CF 81 he will be presented with an opportunity to get closer to his goal.
“I need to wear that BRAVE CF belt around my waist. I’m aiming for that belt. So, whatever is in my way, I’m coming to take it. I’m even more motivated” Erko Jun said.
As for Said Maalem, he sees this fight as an opportunity to reclaim the World Title that was once in his possession. He held the title for a short period after his fight at BRAVE CF 52. However, the result of his title-winning fight was overturned to a no contest which forced Said to vacate the title.
Despite falling short in his subsequent title bout at BRAVE CF 57, Maalem is determined to seize another opportunity which could lead to championship glory.
“The title belongs with me. In Slovenia, victory will be mine and whoever BRAVE CF puts in front of me after that, I’m going through him and getting the title back,” Said noted.
With the fight just days away, the announcement of the title shot opportunity has raised the stakes for the BRAVE CF 81 main event.
BRAVE CF 81 is set to kick off a thrilling year of action for the organization, with a total of nine events already announced for 2024. The event will take place at the Hala Tivoli Arena and will be the first of the two events in Slovenia announced for the year.
