Eliezer Kubanza: The DRC’s Rising Force Became the Boogeyman of BRAVE CF

Eliezer ‘King Kong’ Kubanza is more than just a promising fighter from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He is a knockout artist carving his name in the BRAVE CF super welterweight division with devastating precision. Undefeated in his six professional fights, all won by knockout or TKO, Kubanza has emerged as a formidable presence, ready to shake the division to its core.

A Journey of Growth

Kubanza began his MMA journey on the amateur circuit in September 2017, building a respectable seven-win and three-loss record. By November 2019, he had transitioned into a fighter with undeniable potential, showcasing explosive striking and an instinct for finishes. Although slated to make his professional debut at BRAVE CF 31 in December 2019, circumstances delayed his pro career until November 2021, when he entered the cage under Scuffle Combat.

His early professional victories were emphatic statements. Kubanza dispatched his contemporaries with ease, cementing himself as a fighter to watch. These performances once again caught the attention of BRAVE CF scouts, finally earning him a contract with the Bahrain-based promotion.

Dominance in BRAVE CF

Kubanza’s arrival in BRAVE CF has been nothing short of electrifying. In his promotional debut in June 2023 at BRAVE CF 72, he introduced himself with a highlight-reel head kick that left Rayan Atmani stunned in the first round. His next bout at BRAVE CF 79 in December 2023 showcased his punching power, as he overwhelmed Adel Ibrahim with relentless first-round strikes.

Most recently in August, at BRAVE CF 85, Kubanza faced the seasoned Salamat Orozakunov. Many expected a competitive fight, but Kubanza once again delivered, securing a first-round knockout via punches and solidifying his place among the super welterweight division’s elite.

Training with Champions

Kubanza trains out of SOMA Fight Club, a gym known for producing elite fighters, including Nkosi Ndebele, the reigning BRAVE CF Bantamweight Champion. Under the guidance of a championship-caliber team, Kubanza has refined his skill set, combining his natural power with tactical precision.

Climbing the Super Welterweight Ladder

Currently ranked as the No. 5 contender in BRAVE CF’s super welterweight division, Kubanza has his sights set on the top. His upcoming bout against Zagid Gaidarov could position him as a legitimate title contender. The division is currently ruled by Luiz Cado but, with Kubanza’s streak of dominant first-round finishes, many believe it’s only a matter of time before ‘King Kong’ does a backflip adorned in gold.

As Kubanza steps into the cage for his next challenge, the stakes have never been higher. His blend of power, athleticism, and the hunger to represent the Democratic Republic of the Congo on a global stage makes him one of BRAVE CF’s most exciting prospects. A victory over Gaidarov could cement his status as a top contender and bring him closer to a showdown with Cado.

In a promotion filled with world-class talent, Eliezer Kubanza has a certain pull factor to him that makes him a cannot-miss act to watch. At BRAVE CF 91 on Friday, 13 December, Kubanza looks to end the year off strong whilst also rounding up his championship campaign in the same manner.
