Eduardo Mora eager to be the face of Colombia and Latin America at BRAVE CF

Saturday, September 7th, 2019 will always be an iconic moment etched in the memory of Colombia’s Eduardo Mora. It was the day he earned his BRAVE CF contract.

After shining in the Road to BRAVE CF tournament which consisted of a series of local shows in his nation, Mora made it to the finals which took place on the preliminary card of the BRAVE CF 26 in Bogota. There, Mora introduced himself to the world as the first-ever Road to BRAVE CF winner after he TKO’d Juan David Erazo in front of crazed Colombian mixed martial arts fans.

BRAVE Combat Federation prides itself on not only creating a platform for athletes to showcase their talents and improve their livelihoods, but it also stands firm in growing the sport by opening doors for nations and people who would have otherwise not have such opportunities.

And Mora (6-2) is one of those athletes who grabbed hold of the opportunity BRAVE CF handed to him. He is now on the cusp of not only becoming the official face of Colombian MMA, but also an ambassador for Latin American MMA when he takes on South Africa’s Nkosi Ndebele (4-1) in a thrilling Bantamweight bout at BRAVE 60 this coming weekend.

Mora is unbeaten in five fights and will look to secure his second BRAVE CF scalp after his debut win in 2019 against Erazo. He was scheduled to face Hamyrez Oliveira at BRAVE CF 35, however, the pandemic and subsequent global lockdown had other plans forcing BRAVE CF to cancel the fight.

Mora, keen on building his brand, stayed busy and tested smaller promotion waters. His latest fight saw him secure an impressive inverted knee-bar win over Naren Tabares last month and he will be hungry to not only build on that win, but also stack his BRAVE CF portfolio with ticks in the “Win” column.

What makes Mora such a distinguished athlete is the fact that he does not conform to the typical Colombian martial artist mold. Despite coming from a country that mostly focuses on striking (with Kung Fu and Karate being the staple), Mora is a highly-specialized Combat Sambo athlete who has enjoyed much success with a silver medal in the Pan-American Sambo Championship and three Amateur Colombian titles.

Those achievements set him on a path to BRAVE CF and ultimately saw him win the Road to BRAVE CF Colombia competition. A win for Mora will create a new path for Colombian and Latin-American athletes, but it will not be an easy quest as he faces an athlete in Ndebele who will command his respect. Ndebele is the more experienced BRAVE CF campaigner with four wins to his name and he will be looking to stamp down his authority in the 135lb department with a win over Mora. Ndebele is a celebrated athlete back in South Africa and will want to carry his country's flag proudly come BRAVE CF 60 and take another step closer to the 135 lb championship.
