Rasul Magomedov has risen as a top contender in the BRAVE CF Light Heavyweight division following his win at BRAVE CF 90
The BRAVE CF Light Heavyweight division has a new contender. Bahraini superstar Rasul Magomedov secured another dominant win by outclassing Lukasz Olech in the main event of BRAVE CF 90 in Austria and with this victory, Magomedov has cemented his position as the top contender in the BRAVE CF Light Heavyweight division.
Magomedov entered the BRAVE CF 90 main event with an undefeated professional MMA record, having stopped all six of his previous opponents. While he did not secure a finish against Olech, who came into the fight on a three-fight submission streak, Magomedov showcased complete dominance over three rounds to claim a comfortable decision victory.
In his post-fight interview, Magomedov was asked about a potential title fight. He responded by stating that he has been waiting for a title shot for a long time.
The Light Heavyweight division saw the crowning of a new champion at BRAVE CF 88 earlier this year, when Erko Jun captured the title by defeating Alexander Wesner. Jun is still awaiting his first title defense, and with his victory at BRAVE CF 90, Magomedov has made a strong case to become the first challenger for the belt.
A former IMMAF World Champion, Magomedov is also a Combat Sambo World Champion and an accomplished wrestler. While he became an Amateur MMA Champion at Heavyweight, he has found his stride at Light Heavyweight in professional MMA.
Prior to his BRAVE CF 90 win, Magomedov secured a first-round stoppage victory over Brazilian veteran Pablo Benaion at BRAVE CF 87. With his perfect record intact and another major win added to his resume, Magomedov is now well-positioned for a shot at the Light Heavyweight gold.
BRAVE CF 90 took place on November 23 at the Multiverse Schwechat in Vienna, in association with Sparta CF. It was the tenth event of the year for BRAVE Combat Federation. The organization now heads to Bahrain for BRAVE CF 91 and BRAVE CF 92, which will be held as part of the BRAVE International Combat Week in December.
