Darko Stosic dismisses Gazievs comments and predicts finish in BRAVE CF 69 co-main event

Serbian star Darko Stosic has shrugged off Shamil Gaziev’s comments ahead of their colossal BRAVE CF 69 Heavyweight co-main event in Belgrade on February 18th.

BRAVE CF 69 will cap the largest MMA event in all of Europe when the BRAVE Serbia International Combat Week concludes with an electric nine-fight card in Serbia’s Stark Arena on February 18th. It will be a special night for Serbian fans as local superstars like Stosic and Aleksandar “Joker” Ili? return home to fight in front of their home fans for the first time in five years.

But earlier this week, Gaziev stated his intentions to spoil the Serbian celebration after he stated Stosic would never be able to compete with him over five rounds. That conversation stemmed from BRAVE Combat Federation wanting to create a five-round Heavyweight for these two gladiators. The co-main event has since been scheduled for three rounds due to contractual issues.

Even though the move to 15 minutes had nothing to do with Stosic not wanting a five-round fight, Gaziev was of the belief that his opponent would never accept a 25-minute battle with him. "I told you he will not accept five rounds with me,” was the message Gaziev gave to his KHK Team Bahrain head coach Eldar Eldarov.

When Stosic got wind of Gaziev’s thoughts, he played it cool and kept his response very simple, reminding BRAVE Nation of his track record. “Shamil is very good, but he does not have a lot of experience in professional fighting like me. I will win this fight on the feet,” said the Serb.

Aside from Stosic being the more experienced fighter, he is confident that there is no way Gaziev will be able to spoil this massive moment for him or Serbian fans. “What I can say? If he thinks I can’t fight five rounds, it's his problem. I can fight anybody, three or five rounds, it does not matter, especially at this huge event and moment for Serbian MMA,” added Stosic who will have the entire Belgrade crowd behind him.

The main event of BRAVE CF 69 is a BRAVE CF Lightweight championship bout between Kyrgyzstan’s Abdisalam Kubanychbek (interim champion) and Russia’s Kamil Magomedov, who will both look to claim the undisputed 155-pound title. The fight card will conclude the BRAVE Serbia International Combat Week, the biggest combat sports festival in European history, confirming BRAVE CF's place as the largest market share holder in Europe.
