It's been a long road for Carl "The Bomber" Booth at BRAVE CF. Having fought with the promotion since BRAVE CF 2, the Englishman is possibly one fight away from a title shot. Competing in his fourth main event this Saturday against Abdoul Abdouraguimov, at BRAVE CF 38, he believes a win over the former champion will be enough to grant him a third crack at the reigning Welterweight titleholder Jarrah Al-Selawe.
Carl thinks that the way with which he'll be able to beat Abdoul will also dictate the promotion's decision to make the trilogy fight against Al-Selawe a reality. Booth has beaten Jarrah in their first encounter, but "The Jordanian Lion" bested him when they met for the second time.
"Basically, all week I've heard the name Jarrah Al-Selawe. So I believe that getting Abdoul out of the way quickly and in vicious fashion, puts me right up there, ready to challenge", said Booth, during BRAVE CF 38 Media Day in an interview with Sherdog.
During the time between his last loss and his current position, Booth has been able to put together a two-fight win streak, beating Dino Bagattin by TKO and dominating Hayder Hassan in his latest outing. Now the bad blood with the champion seems to be back, as they look forward to a third fight.
"There seems to be a bit (of bad blood) on social media at least. He's got a thing about bear emojis, I don't know what his game is, it's a bit childish for me. But when we were backstage, face to face, he was like a little boy. There was no bad blood there, you know what I mean? It was all handshakes and smiley faces. Then he gets behind the keyboard and becomes brave, so I don't know (his deal)".
On his way to the title shot, lies one of the most dangerous submission artists in MMA. Should Carl defend Abdoul's ground game and beat his French-Russian counterpart, a trilogy fight would be the next logical step for the one-time title contender. All eyes on BRAVE CF 38's main event.
