Mohsen Mohammedseifi is a legend of Wushu Sanda, as only one of three male competitors to ever win five world championships. However, in recent years, he has dedicated himself to mixed martial arts and has forged a path of destruction within the BRAVE Combat Federation Lightweight division. However, the legendary Iranian fighter will go back to his first love in search of his fourth straight gold medal in the Asian Games.

‘’The Golden Boy’’, who has possibly one of the most accurate nicknames in combat sports, has won gold medals in the last three Asian Games, held in Guangzhou (China), Incheon (South Korea), and Jakarta (Indonesia). Now he returns to Wushu Sanda and will represent Iran in the 2022 Asian Games, which take place this year in Hangzhou, China (the Games were delayed for a year due to the covid-19 pandemic).

While he continues to successfully juggle his MMA and Wushu Sanda careers, he will once again act as Team Captain in Hangzhou, with the Asian Games opening ceremony taking place on September 23, at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium. He begins his road to gold a day later on September 24, at the Xiaoshan Guali Sports Centre.

If Mohsen, 34, continues to advance, he will be locked in for a final match taking place on September 28, as the most celebrated name in Wushu Sanda will look to get another record on his resume, already embellished by a legendary run between 2010 and 2019 which saw Mohamedseifi earn five world championships and three Asian Games gold medals.

While his attentions are firmly on the Asian Games for now, Mohsen has kept a close eye on the evolution of BRAVE CF’s Lightweight division as he has expressed his desire to compete soon for the coveted world title, which is currently in possession of Kyrgyzstan’s own Abdisalam Kubanychbek.
