BRAVE CF Colombia to become the biggest MMA event in Colombia’s history

Colombia has no shortage of extremely talented MMA stars who have competed at the highest levels this far. Names like Eduardo Mora, Sabina Mazo, and Fredy Serrano have all traveled the world, proudly flying Colombia’s flag on the biggest MMA platforms. Next month, in Bogota, Colombia, history will be written when the world turns its eyes to the Latin nation ahead of the ground-breaking BRAVE Pan-American Combat Week - the largest MMA event in Colombia’s history.

The BRAVE Pan-American Combat Week will see the best amateur athletes from North, Central, and South America all descend upon the nation’s capital competing for gold before eighteen international professionals from around the world vie for honors at BRAVE CF 73 in the final show of the four-day fight festival. The event will be governed by the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) in partnership with BRAVE CF, the Colombian Association of Mixed Martial Arts (OCAMM), and in co-promotion with Latin Fighter Championship (LFC).

BRAVE Combat Federation remains the only global MMA organization to host shows in Colombia, following BRAVE CF 15 (Bucaramanga), and BRAVE CF 26 (Bogota), which saw the unearthing of local talent who have since become global stars. But nothing will compare to the upcoming event, set to light up the Latin American combat sports scene.

Last year’s IMMAF Pan-American Championships saw Mexico top the medal table, closely followed by the United States, with many top amateurs, such as Anthony Orozco and Jonathan Powell, emerging from the competition. Colombia enjoyed a promising run in 2022, finishing with six medals overall. Mateo Lara, Nicolas Rodriguez, and Laura Oquendo were among the athletes to earn a spot on the podium and may feature again this year. On the professional front, Colombia’s Mora  - the first Road to BRAVE CF Colombia winner - will return to the BRAVE CF cage when he competes against Trinidad and Tobago’s unbeaten Keron Bourne in a main card Bantamweight bout.

The BRAVE CF 73 undercard will feature the best Colombian MMA fighters competing under the LFC banner, taking on rivals from Latin America. In total, there will be four prelims, with the highlight being the clash of two former BRAVE CF fighters: Maurício Otalora and Calos Belloso.
