The stage is set for BRAVE CF 89 as all the fighters made weight for the fight night which is scheduled to happen this Saturday, October 19

Super Welterweight champion Kamal Magomedov is all set for the first title defense of his reign

The first-ever MMA World title on Spanish soil is official as BRAVE CF Super Welterweight champion Kamal Magomedov and Brazilian superstar Luiz Cado made weight ahead of their main event clash at BRAVE CF 89.

Magomedov weighed in at 77.10 kg, while Cado came in at 79.12 kg, both within the Super Welterweight limit of 79.4 kg. With the weigh-ins completed, the stage is set for history to be made at Pabellon Santiago Martin in Tenerife, Spain, on Saturday, October 19.

Undefeated in his professional MMA career, Magomedov aims to continue his winning streak in Spain, while Cado is looking to become the first fighter to defeat him and claim the title as BRAVE CF's sixth Brazilian world champion.

All other fighters on the card also made weight on their first attempt, showcasing professionalism.

For the co-main event, Spanish MMA veteran Jose Sanchez weighed 70.76 kg, and his opponent Richie Smullen came in at 70.4 kg. Sanchez, an unsung hero in Spanish MMA for over a decade, is aiming to showcase his skills on the global stage and despite being a bit late to the scale, made weight successfully. Smullen, meanwhile, will be hoping to silence the Spanish crowd when he steps into the cage at BRAVE CF 89.

Former Kickboxing World Champion Ilias Bulaid weighed 66.10 kg for his Featherweight bout against Swiss MMA veteran Anthony Riggio, who weighed in at 65.90 kg. Both Anuar Bensayid and Sino Sabzaliev also met the Featherweight limit of 66.2 kg, confirming both the Featherweight bouts.

Dutch rising star Daan Duijs and Abdelmoumen Mssaate, who is returning to BRAVE CF, weighed in at 61.44 kg and 61.64 kg, respectively, within the Bantamweight limit of 61.7 kg. Mssaate, just like Sanchez, was a bit late to the scale but made weight in his first-attempt.

For the sole women's fight on the card, Andrea Meneses Garcia and Adriana Fusini made weight at 47.98 kg and 47.88 kg, respectively and will be eager to put the Atomweight division on the map following the impressive fights that the female fighters in the Strawweight division showcased recently.

Gerard Burns, moving up to Bantamweight following two consecutive first-round knockouts in Flyweight, weighed 61.38 kg when his Brazilian opponent, Santiago Paiva, came in at 61.52 kg. Oscar Mendez and Tony Sipos also made weight for their Lightweight clash which opens the fight card, finalizing the lineup for BRAVE CF 89.

The event concludes BRAVE Combat Federation’s "Around the World in 70 Days" tour, which included stops in China, Pakistan, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, and Slovenia. Held in partnership with Fight2One, BRAVE CF 89 marks the organization’s ninth event of the year.
