BRAVE Combat Federation’s BRAVE CF 88 emerged as one of the biggest MMA events in Europe, not only highlighting professional MMA but also showcasing a crucial amateur bout, underlining the organization’s dedication to developing the sport at the grassroots level through its ongoing collaboration with the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF). The opening fight of BRAVE CF 88 was an amateur welterweight contest between IMMAF European champion Kirill Negru and Italy’s Ilian Sinani, aimed at determining the top amateur welterweight in Europe. Negru delivered a dominant performance in front of his home crowd, securing a unanimous
decision victory and reaffirming his position as the reigning European champion. Following his victory, Negru received an exciting announcement as IMMAF board member Mohammed Qamber, who was present at the event, awarded Negru free entry into the IMMAF World Championships, to be held in November in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. In his post-fight speech, Negru expressed his gratitude and vowed to bring home the IMMAF World Championship gold medal. "Now, we are number one in Slovenia. In April, I became the 2024 IMMAF European champion, winning the gold medal for Slovenia. May God bless me and Slovenia to bring home the gold at the IMMAF World Championships in November,” Negru said. Over the years, BRAVE Combat Federation and IMMAF have worked closely to foster a thriving global MMA ecosystem. The opportunity provided to Negru at BRAVE CF 88 is another example of their successful partnership. With this win, Negru maintained his undefeated amateur MMA record, improving to eight wins and no losses. This was also his sixth victory of 2024, including his impressive run at the IMMAF European Championships. BRAVE CF 88, held in association with WFC, was the eighth event of the year for BRAVE Combat Federation and witnessed the crowning of two new world champions: Erko Jun as the new Light Heavyweight champion and Pavel Dailidko as the inaugural Heavyweight champion, in front of a sold-out crowd in Slovenia.
