BRAVE Combat Federation’s commitment towards growing the sport of MMA in Africa has been evident since the organization’s inception in 2016 and is set to be renewed with BRAVE CF 82 taking place in Mauritius on May 11.
To date, BRAVE CF remains the only international MMA organization in the world to have hosted events in Africa and athletes from 12 African nations have so far fought under the BRAVE CF banner.
The global exposure that BRAVE CF has given to these athletes has boosted the growth of MMA in their respective nations and the latest success story from Africa is that of Eliezer Kubanza.
Fighting out of DR Congo, Kubanza had an impressive run in 2023 which saw him secure two first-round finishes in BRAVE Combat Federation. The wins not only catapulted Kubanza into the global limelight but also made him an MMA superstar in his home country. The image of the people in DR Congo celebrating his win had gone viral and he was felicitated by the Minister of Sports of DR Congo after his wins in the most global MMA organization in the world.
Kubanza’s success has opened the doors of the MMA world to more Congolese fighters.
Two DR Congo fighters Ananias Mulumba and Prince Lolia will be seen in action at BRAVE CF 82, and Kubanza has played a crucial role in ensuring spots in the card for these two fighters.
Kubanza, who will be in action against Karim Rabei at BRAVE CF 82, has been ‘harassing’ the BRAVE CF matchmakers to ensure spots for his fellow countrymen on the fight card.
It was, however, an easy decision for the BRAVE CF matchmakers to accept the request from Kubanza as he has proven what the fighters from DR Congo are capable of.
Both Lolia and Mulumba, who are friends and teammates of Kubanza will be looking to follow in the footsteps of their teammate at BRAVE CF 82 and make a lasting impact in their promotional debut.
Mulumbu comes into the card with a professional record of six wins and one loss and is riding on a six-fight winning streak with all his professional MMA wins coming through finishes. He was also the Lightweight champion in a regional promotion.
Lolia, on the other hand, is undefeated so far in professional MMA. He was mentored by Kubanza and his last win which came through a first-round knockout had gone viral on the internet as well.
With the addition of Lolia and Mulumbu, BRAVE CF 82 will have three fighters from DR Congo, which is a rare feat for Congolese MMA and MMA in Africa. The event will mark the fourth show in Africa for BRAVE Combat Federation and it will also be the debut event in Mauritius for the organization.
