BRAVE CF 72: Roman Bogatov puts his Featherweight world title on the line against KO machine Nemat Abdrashitov

Posted on May 22, 2023

Abdrashitov will look to follow in Kubanychbek’s footsteps and become the second Kyrgyz to wear BRAVE CF gold while the champ vows to defend his title just like all his predecessors

BRAVE CF Featherweight world champion Roman Bogatov will put his golden strap on the line for the first time when he meets Kyrgyzstan’s Nemat Abdrashitov in the main event of BRAVE CF 72 on June 23.

BRAVE CF 72 forms part of the second leg of the exciting Kombat Kingdom series that returns to the Kingdom of Bahrain, this year following a successful week of action last October in Isa Town, Bahrain. Kombat Kingdom kicks off on June 19 with BRAVE CF 71 before Bogatov and Abdrashitov headline the follow-up card four days later.

Bogatov has been in scintillating form from 2021, racking up three wins since his BRAVE CF debut at BRAVE CF 46 where he introduced himself to BRAVE Nation fans with a dominant unanimous decision win over Kazakhstan’s Nurzhan Akishev.

That victory began a successful run leading him to a championship duel where he cemented his reign in the 145-pound division with a hard-fought split decision win, handing South Korea’s Tae Kyun Kim his first-ever loss at BRAVE CF 64 in their vacant championship fight. Bogatov's last two fights have been Fight of The Year candidates and he will look to maintain the tradition of all previous Featherweight champions - both Elias Boudegzdame and Bubba Jenkins have successfully defended their throne.

Abdrashitov made his BRAVE CF debut the same year as his upcoming opponent. The Kyrgyz has not set a foot wrong in BRAVE CF thus far, with three ferocious knockout victories.

His last win saw him produce a devastating right hand KO to Brazil’s Marcos Vinicius Costa at BRAVE CF 63. That result secured him a number-one contender spot and he now has the chance to follow in his countryman Abdisalam Kubanychbek’s (BRAVE CF Lightweight champion) footsteps by becoming the second Kyrgyz to earn a prestigious BRAVE CF strap.

Next month’s jam-packed schedule promises to whet the taste buds of fight fans with a line-up of exciting title fights and various high-stake match-ups, which will include the world’s best athletes on show under the BRAVE CF lights.
