BRAVE Nation fans will experience a new and explosive BRAVE CF 70 co-main event when Joilton Lutterbach and Sweden’s Andreas Gustafsson Berg throw down in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on April 23. The original co-headliner between Bantamweights Jose Torres and Nkosi Ndebele has been canceled after Ndebele pulled out due to undisclosed reasons.
Now, Lutterbach and Gustafsson Berg will compete in an electric Super Welterweight (up to 175lbs) contest that will only add to the allure of BRAVE CF 70 as the promotion returns to Slovenia for the second time in three years to light up the Central European MMA scene once again.
Lutterbach - BRAVE CF’s number one-ranked Super Lightweight - has been on a demolition course since making his BRAVE CF debut last year, recording two devastating first-round finishes over top contenders Marcel Grabinski and Mihail Cotruta, respectively. He has since been barking for a shot at BRAVE CF’s MMA royalty and current Super Lightweight champion, Eldar Eldarov.
While Lutterbach awaits his shot at the Eldarov, he has opted to stay active and will now move up in weight class to face natural Middleweight and 2020 BRAVE CF “Fight of the Year” award recipient Gustafsson Berg, who - with the help of Lutterbach - is set to put his name in the hat for another “Fight of the Year” accolade. Both Lutterbach and Gustafsson Berg are notoriously known for not working overtime.
Lutterbach is a six-promotion multi-division MMA champion and a two-promotion K-1 champion with an impeccable grappling pedigree. His skillset has seen him record an impressive 27 finishes in 37 victories. Gustafsson Berg - making his second BRAVE CF showing - has racked up 18 amateur and professional wins. Since his transition to the pro leagues, he has secured seven knockout and submission victories in nine fights with only one loss which came via a narrow split decision in 2020.
The former IMMAF amateur world silver medalist put the BRAVE CF Middleweight division on notice when he stopped Serbia’s Miro Jurkovic in their “Fight of the Year” showing at BRAVE CF 39 and will look to reassert himself as a threat once again with another barn-burner showing at BRAVE CF 70, now in a new division.
In total, 13 nations will be represented by 16 world-class athletes when BRAVE CF touches down in Ljubljana for BRAVE CF’s 20th event in Europe since its inception in 2016. BRAVE CF 70 will again be co-promoted with the leading regional organization - WFC.
