World title challenger Khamzat Chimaev seems intent on messing with his opponent's mind. "Borz" will challenge current BRAVE CF Super Welterweight titleholder Jarrah Al-Selawe at BRAVE CF 37, in Stockholm, Sweden, on April 18th, and has started the mind games against "The Jordanian Lion".
Through his social media accounts, Chimaev, who likens himself to a wolf, uploaded a picture of the animal eating a chicken, with only its leg hanging out of the wolf's mouth. In a humorous caption, he tagged Al-Selawe and asked if that was his leg, implying that the champ is a chicken.
Al-Selawe has yet to respond, but he is known for carrying a grudge with past opponents, even getting into a pre-fight brawl with Abdoul Abdouraguimov during the ceremonial weigh-ins for their fight.
The duo first met backstage during BRAVE CF 27, when they fought different opponents. After Al-Selawe regained the title from Abdoul Abdouraguimov, Chimaev stormed into the cage and demanded a fight with him.
They stared each other down, and Khamzat started the trash talk that culminated in the fight being booked for April. MMA legend and Chimaev's teammate Alexander Gustafsson has described the bout as the biggest of the year in Sweden.
BRAVE CF 37 will take place at the Solnahallen, in Stockholm in a partnership with leading local promotion AK Fighting Championships.
