BBC releases featured documentary starring BRAVE CF fighter

BRAVE CF’s former Lightweight World Champion Abdul Kareem Al Selwady is the star of the newly-released featured documentary of BBC World Service called “Pride of Palestine”. The 27-minute picture portrays the preparation and fight week adrenaline of the athlete before his first title defense, against Luan “Miau” Santiago, in 2019.
The documentary starts with the 8-week preparation leading to the fight at BRAVE CF 23. Recorded in Dallas, USA and Amman, Jordan, where the film crew had exclusive access to BRAVE CF’s backstage during the fight week, the documentary shows the tension between the individual demand of a high-caliber professional athlete and the responsibility of representing your people and heritage.
It’s no spoiler, though, to say that in the occasion, Al Selwady ended up defeated in a stunning performance by Brazil’s Luan “Miau”. But the adverse outcome only adds an extra layer of truth and drama to the story, showing that the fight is definitely not only fought inside the cage and its repercussions and effects go way beyond the official announcement.
The biggest broadcaster worldwide by number of employees, the BBC (acronym for British Broadcasting Corporation) is present around the globe since 1932 with the BBC World Service, which provides content in 32 languages, including the BBC Arabic, through which the BRAVE CF’s “Pride of Palestine” documentary was released.
