American Zach Makovsky begins road to BRAVE CF gold in Bahrain
Zach Makovsky is the most experienced contestant for the BRAVE CF Flyweight tournament. At BRAVE CF 42, he will descend upon the Kingdom of Bahrain for the first time in search of the biggest prize - the BRAVE CF belt. A worldwide name and a staple of the Flyweight division in MMA, ‘’Fun Size’’ has fought for different promotions throughout his career but is now focused on getting his name on the history papers as the first-ever BRAVE CF Flyweight world champion.
The fastest-growing MMA organization in the world is producing a eight-man tournament to determine its first champion in the weight-class, and has put forth some of the biggest names in the division for the biggest tournament of 2020. Aside from Zach, BRAVE CF has named the likes of Jose Torres, Sean Santella, and Velimurad Alkhasov as participants, highlighting the best of the best at Flyweight.
Makovsky faces Abdul Hussein in the first round of the tournament and hopes his experience will be the difference-maker against a much younger opponent, who is known for being an amateur world champion.
Zach has multiple titles in and outside of MMA - he was the FILA grappling world champion in 2011, and has several accolades in wrestling at university level in the United States.
His opponent also comes in with a heavy pedigree, as Hussein was a world champion as an amateur in the IMMAF tournament and is riding a three-fight win streak after losing his only pro fight in his BRAVE CF debut.
On September 24th, Zach will have the chance to prove he belongs on the international stage and a win over Abdul will not only mean a spot in the semifinals of the tournaments, but also a warning shot for all Flyweights in the BRAVE CF roster.
