Songül Karatorak became the latest beneficiary of the BRAVE CF – IMMAF Amateur pathway at BRAVE CF 90
2024 has been a ground-breaking year for the BRAVE CF Women’s Strawweight division. The division witnessed plenty of action, including a Fight of the Year contender between Monika Ku?ini? and Fabiola Pidroni and at BRAVE CF 90, the division welcomed Songül Karatorak, who showcased why she could be the future of BRAVE CF’s Strawweight division.
Songül made her professional MMA debut at BRAVE CF 90, benefiting from the visionary BRAVE CF–IMMAF amateur pathway. An IMMAF European Champion, she entered the fight on a three-fight winning streak and continued her momentum by dominating Kinga Jendrasik, ultimately securing a first-round submission victory.
Despite Kinga having more professional MMA experience—with four fights under her belt—and coming in one kilogram above the Strawweight limit, Songül gave her no room to breathe and dominated from the opening bell.
Her extensive amateur MMA experience was on full display, underscoring how BRAVE CF’s support for IMMAF has enabled athletes like Songül to thrive at the amateur level and transition seamlessly into the professional ranks.
With her professional debut now in the books, Songül has announced her entry into the BRAVE CF Strawweight division in style. As BRAVE CF has yet to crown its inaugural Female Champion, Songül's arrival adds excitement to the division. While she may need a few more wins to establish herself as a top contender, her impressive debut has set the tone for her rise in the division.
Held in association with the leading local promotion Sparta CF, BRAVE CF 90 was a historic event for the organization, marking its debut in Austria. The milestone event established Austria as the 16th host nation in Europe and the 35th host nation globally—both of which are world records.
