Erko Jun vs Said Maalem is official with a world Light Heavyweight title shot on the line for the winner of the first BRAVE CF main event of 2024

Erko Jun made weight for his second BRAVE CF main event

Professionalism was on full display in Slovenia today as all fighters involved in BRAVE CF 81 including the ones that took up fights on short notice successfully made weight for BRAVE Combat Federation’s first event of 2024 scheduled to happen tomorrow, April 20.

In the main event, Erko Jun stepped in at 93kg when Mohammed Said Maalem weighed in at 92.4kg making the headliner official with the Light Heavyweight limit being at 93.4kg. A Light Heavyweight title shot is up for grabs for these fighters as they step into the cage in Slovenia tomorrow.

Meanwhile, in the co-main event, David Forster and Christian Mach both weighed in at 75.1kg, just below the 75.3kg Super Lightweight limit.

All six Heavyweight fighters that will be in action at BRAVE CF 81 weighed in below the Heavyweight limit of 120.7kg. Pavel Dailidko who is coming into the event on the back of three back-to-back first-round finishes, weighed in the lightest among the Heavyweight lot as he stood at 110.7kg. His opponent Valdrin Istrefi weighed in at 119.6kg giving Pavel a weight-difference to work with. It is also worth to note that Istrefi was the last man to weigh in, with 20 minutes to go, which seems to indicate he had to cut weight, which is not as common for a Heavyweight.

Kasim Aras and Baki Sahin who took up their fights on short notice came at 116.5kg and 112.7kg respectively.

In the lone women’s fight on the card, Monika Kucinic came in at 52.6kg when her opponent Sofiia Bagishvili, who took up the fight on short notice, weighed in at 51.7kg with the Strawweight limit at 52.6kg.

BRAVE CF 81 will happen at Hala Tivoli Arena, in Ljubljana, Slovenia, in association with WFC on April 20. This will be the first event in 2024 for the most global MMA organization in the world and will also mark the start of BRAVE CF’s 2024 Europe Tour which is expected to feature six events across five European nations including a return to Slovenia in October.
