BRAVE Combat Federation debuts in Bulgaria on August 24 with BRAVE CF 86

Said Maalem made weight ahead of his main event bout against Atanas Djambazov

Professionalism was on display in Bulgaria ahead of the historic BRAVE CF 86, as all fighters on the card successfully made weight on their first attempt.

For the Light Heavyweight main event, Bulgarian knockout artist Atanas Djambazov weighed in at 93.2kg, while Arab MMA legend Said Maalem came in at 93.1kg. Both fighters were well within the 93.4kg weight limit, making the main event official. Djambazov is aiming for a major comeback after a long absence from the sport, while Said Maalem looks to recover from a setback suffered at BRAVE CF 81.

For the co-main event, Alex Lohoré weighed in at 79.6kg while Jivko Stoimenov came in at 79.8kg, both within the Super Welterweight limit. Lohoré is coming into the fight on the back of his huge win over Marcin Bandel at BRAVE CF 83 and will be looking to push his case for a title shot when Stoimenov has the opportunity to disrupt Lohoré's title aspirations and make his own claim for the title.

Khamzat Maaev and Antonio Bushev both came in at 75.1kg for their Super Lightweight contest while Pavel Vladev and Christian Mach came in at 70.7kg and 70.8kg respectively for their Lightweight contest. The showdown between Mach and Vladev will be one of the three major Lightweight battles on the card. Other two fights will see six-time amateur MMA champion Rusi Minev taking on undefeated Greek superstar Christos Tsirimokos and Bulgaria’s Anton Yanchev taking on Poland’s Patryk Krzak. All four fighters came within the Lightweight limit of 70.8kg.

For the lone catchweight bout on the card, Gabriel Gilthon and Eduard Evdokimov successfully made weight below the limit.

BRAVE CF 86 will further solidify BRAVE Combat Federation's world record as the most hosted MMA organization, with Bulgaria becoming the 34th nation to host the organization. It also marks a significant milestone for European MMA, as BRAVE CF extends its record as the most hosted organization in Europe, with Bulgaria becoming the 15th host nation on the continent.
