Hussain Al Kurdi became the latest beneficiary of the visionary IMMAF – BRAVE CF Amateur pathway at BRAVE CF 91
Bahrain’s Hussain Al Kurdi made a memorable professional MMA debut at BRAVE CF 91, where he outclassed Egypt’s Seif Shawki to secure a third-round stoppage victory. The fight marked Hussain’s seamless transition to the professional ranks after an impressive run in amateur MMA, during which he represented Bahrain on the global stage.
Hussain’s dominance in amateur MMA was highlighted by the bronze medal he won at the IMMAF World Championships and now, he has successfully translated that success into his professional career. Hussain is the latest beneficiary of the visionary IMMAF–BRAVE CF Amateur Pathway, which enables amateur fighters who excel at IMMAF competitions to transition seamlessly into the professional ranks through BRAVE Combat Federation.
Notable names like Muhammad Mokaev, Sabrina de Sousa, and Nkosi Ndebele have found success through this pathway, and with his stoppage win, Hussain has joined their ranks.
The victory marked Hussain’s fourth consecutive win across amateur and professional MMA and his third fight under the BRAVE CF banner. During his amateur run, he fought twice in BRAVE CF, winning both bouts.
In his post-fight interview, Hussain noted that fighting in Bahrain was a huge motivation for him as it gave him the opportunity to represent his nation on a global stage while performing in front of home fans.
Now eager to return to the cage following his triumphant professional debut, Hussain’s success showcases the rise of the next generation of MMA talent from Bahrain. As one of the fighters leading the charge, his performance at BRAVE CF 91 also highlights the nation’s commitment to discovering and nurturing young MMA talent.
