BRAVE CF 74 Results: historic night in France highlighted by KO Of The Year contenders

Vive la France et la Fédération de Combat Courageux! Long live France and BRAVE Combat Federation! This was the tone set last night at BRAVE CF 74 following a spectacular night of mixed martial arts in Nantes, France. Ten of the world’s elite fighters understood the assignment by pitching up and putting on a show worthy of another record-breaking event as France became the 29th nation to host BRAVE Combat Federation in less than seven years of operation, a world record for most countries hosted by a MAM organization.
Four KO’s and one decision were the order of the night, with Levy Carriel producing a magic moment with a flying switch kick to knock out his opponent, while Lucas ‘’Mineiro’’ made a compelling point for another title shot by silencing the beautiful French crowd and knocking out Ylies Djiroun,
In the main event, it was the local hero against the global superstar as France’s Ylies Djiroun took on former BRAVE CF Lightweight champion and Brazil’s Lucas Martins in a number-one contender bout. Djiroun got the upper hand in the first few exchanges of round one with crisp blows landed on the stand-up, at one stage even cutting Martins open above the eye.
But the grizzled former champion bided his time and waited for the right moment to attack, and in the third minute of the first round, Martins delivered a well-timed uppercut and over-hand right, which dropped Djiroun before the Brazilian rained down punches to end the fight via TKO. An ecstatic Martins then quickly exited the BRAVE CF cage and exchanged words with former BRAVE CF champion Amin Ayoub, who had been in the crowd, before returning to the canvas to thank everybody and send out a message to the undisputed champion Abdisalam Kubanychybek.
“Thank you to France and BRAVE Combat Federation for this incredible show. I trained so hard for this fight, and I did so because I want to become the champion of BRAVE Combat Federation again,” said Martins. “BRAVE CF knows I am the biggest name in the Lightweight division, and I’ll be a great matchup for Kubanychbek. Let’s make this happen, Abdisalam. I want to fight before the end of the year again,” concluded Martins.

In the co-main event, France’s Anthony Dizy did an excellent job in producing a more than respectable fight despite having been called up on short notice to take on Ukraine’s four-time combat sambo world champion Vladyslav Rudniev in a Lightweight bout following the withdrawal of Axel Sola.
Being tasked with starring in a co-main event of a global show is always a huge responsibility, none more so than on the BRAVE CF platform, and Dizy proved what it meant for him to be partaking in French MMA history as he had an answer for every grappling and wrestling exchange of Rudniev in the first round with quick transitions and great defense.
At one stage in the second round, it seemed as though Rudniev had locked in a deep armbar, but Dizy showed how flexible he was and highlighted his high-level understanding of human movement when he managed to maneuver his way out of that submission attempt.
It was only later in the second and third rounds when the fatigue and lack of fight camp became telling on Dizy’s body language as he started breathing heavier, while his work rate slowed down, which Rudniev took advantage of. The Ukrainian continued piling on the pressure with his striking and grappling, remaining the more active fighter, which played in his hands in the end with a unanimous decision victory.

In their ceremonial weigh-ins and staredowns, Heavyweights Salim El Oussaidi and Pavel Dailidko gave the fans an appetizer of what to expect in their fight when they entertained the crowd with some light humor in the center of Nantes. They did not fail to live up to that expectation, only this time, it was all-out "punches in bunches" action as Dailidko put paid to his French opponent within the first round.
Credit must be given to El Oussaidi for his heart and how he made the 194cm Dailidko battle to find his rhythm. From the first buzzer, El Oussaidi rushed in, keeping a low chin, launching jabs at the Lithuanian who towered above his French opponent. At one stage, the two athletes clinched up in what looked to be the first fight of the night to go past the first round. Just when the referee separated the two Heavyweights, Dailidko started finding his range and landed heavy blows to the face of El Oussaidi, who had already been cut open in the clinch via knees. With less than a minute in the first round, “The Experiment” started operating like a well-oiled machine and landed devastating combinations, one of which sent El Oussaidi to the canvas to which the referee called an end to the fight.
In the Bantamweight division, Serbia’s Borislav Nikolic returned to winning ways when he handed Azerbaijan’s unbeaten star Ali Guliev his first-ever professional loss. After a brief moment on the feet, Nikolic landed a huge right hook on the chin of his opponent, who then tumbled to the ground. As Guliev battled to find his coordinates, Nikolic rocked him further with a flurry of shots, but the damage had been done with the initial KO blow, as the referee called an end to the fight.

The opening fight literally kicked off like no other when France’s Levy Carriel launched a rocket-like flying kick to the head of his opponent and compatriot Mathieu Rakotondrazanany. The fight started with a bang when Rakotondrazanany rocked Carriel with a straight right, sending the latter to the canvas before Carriel pulled guard. The two men became stationary in their position, forcing the referee to stand them up before Carriel unleashed a beautifully timed left high kick to the face of Rakotondrazanany, whose limp body dropped to the BRAVE CF canvas.
