Most Global Trilogy

Event Date: May 11, 2024

BRAVE Combat Federation’s debut event in Mauritius is in the books as the most global MMA organization in the world delivered an action-packed event from Cote d'Or in Mauritius on Saturday, May 11.

In the main event of the night, Nkosi Ndebele defended his BRAVE CF Bantamweight World title successfully by securing a unanimous decision win over Jose ‘Shorty’ Torres after five rounds of action.

Torres and Nkosi had a close first round and saw the champion stage a strong performance in the second. Nkosi was able to put his reach advantage to good use and landed multiple strikes through the defence of the former champion before landing a huge strike which dropped Torres. Nkosi, however, failed to finish the fight before the round ended.

A similar story unfolded in the third round as Nkosi was causing problems for Torres with his striking and restricting Torres from closing the distance. Against the flow of the fight, Torres pulled off a submission attempt and closed the round strongly with cage control.

Torres’ takedown proved to be the biggest highlight of the fourth round which was followed by a close final round where both fighters had their moments.

With the win, Nkosi became the first African World Champion to defend the title on African soil.

In the co-main event, Nicholas Hwende edged closer towards the Bantamweight gold as he secured a decision victory over promotional debutant Khurshed Nazarov. Back-and-forth action unfolded in the first round as both fighters showcased their grappling prowess. Nazarov took control of the action in the round that followed but his momentum was halted midway through the fight when Hwende managed to drop him and ended the round on a strong note despite a late submission attempt from Nazarov.

The Zimbabwean capitalized on a failed submission attempt from Nazarov in the opening minute of the third round and dominated the round to close out the fight; in turn, getting the edge on the judges’ scorecard.

BRAVE CF veteran Ylies Djiroun made quick work of his opponent Ananias Mulumba and secured a first-round submission victory. Despite an early setback where Mulumba managed to drop Djiroun, the Frenchman's experience and submission prowess proved decisive. In his post-fight interview, Djiroun called for a spot on the upcoming BRAVE CF card in France and urged the organization to visit France more often.

Unfortunately, the much-anticipated bout between Eliezer Kubanza and Karim Rabei was cancelled due to Rabei falling ill on fight night. Kubanza expressed disappointment but hinted at a potential matchup with the winner of the upcoming BRAVE CF 83 main event between Alex Lohore and Marcin Bandel in the Netherlands.

In the opening fight of the night, Ramazan Gitinov made a statement as he submitted Prince Lolia in the first round. Ramazan was able to land a takedown in under a minute in the opening round and capitalized on the same to make Lolia tap out with an arm triangle. With the win, Ramazan maintained his undefeated record in professional MMA. In his post-fight speech, Ramazan issued a warning to the BRAVE CF Lightweight champion Abdisalam Kubanychbek.

BRAVE CF 82 marked the second event of 2024 for BRAVE Combat Federation and the fourth event in the African continent for the most global MMA organization in the world. The event once again cemented BRAVE Combat Federation’s position as the only international MMA organisation to host events in the African continent.
